When I was young, the Jones' family would get together for the fourth of July at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and the thing we looked forward to was the water fight! I remember the war between the Aunts and Uncles. Dad, Mary, or Bill would usually offer a cash prize to anyone who could get Aunt Margo outside and soaked! Grandma and Grandpa would hide in the safety of their house while all the kids and young-hearted-adults battled long and hard!
...And there was always pineapple sherbet. Grandpa made it from scratch in his wooden ice cream machine. I loved it. It was served with Nilla Wafers. Fun memories. I asked him for this recipe about 4 years ago. I'm glad I got it before his memory escaped.
